The 30-acre Sunrise wildfire north of Wasilla is now 100% contained. Mop-up operations are underway, according to state fire information officer Norm McDonald. About 30 firefighters are on the job and will remain there through the night.
Crews and heavy equipment will work to extinguish hot spots.
The fire erupted Wednesday afternoon in grass, moved into trees and grew to about 30 acres by nightfall. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
